All-in-one Weather Station

ATMOS 41 Gen 2
All-In-One Weather Station

The world’s best research-grade all-in-one weather station for atmospheric measurements that is both affordable and dependable.

  • Measures 12 weather variables
  • Designed for continuous deployment in harsh climates
  • Connect to ZL6 for data capture and management

The weather station problem

Most research-grade weather stations are cluttered, complicated, and frustrating to install and maintain. Wiring and programming can be a nightmare, and finding room to mount everything is a challenge. All-in-one weather stations solve these problems, but the tradeoff is flexibility. Adding just one more sensor often requires an extra logger, making the system more complicated and more expensive. The ATMOS 41 Gen 2 weather station is one of the first affordable, research-grade all-in-one weather station that fulfills all your weather monitoring needs but doesn’t restrain you when you want to make other measurements.

Second generation innovations

METER’s in-house research and development team have been working hard to make the ATMOS 41 Gen 2 more accurate, durable, and reliable than ever before. Wind speed can now be measured up to 60 m/s, meeting the requirements of even more industry standards, such as the IEC61724-1, making it ideal for applications such as utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems, and closer than ever to WMO guidelines.

The Gen 2 also provides a precipitation electrical conductivity (EC) measurement, more accurate precipitation measurements thanks to dual rain gauges, easier installation with built-in leveling bracket, and the option of MODBUS communication. Add in improved durability with more UV-resistant components, easier maintenance and serviceability, and a faster WMO-compliant sensor scan rate, and you’ve got the next generation in research-grade all-in-one weather stations.

More measurements. Lower Cost.

The ATMOS 41 Gen 2 weather station is one of the first affordable, research-grade all-in-one weather station that fulfills all your weather monitoring needs but doesn’t restrain you when you want to make other measurements. All weather data (e.g., humidity, temperature, or atmospheric pressure) are transmitted over a single wire. That means you don’t have to use all of the ports on your data logger just for weather measurements. And, if you are using the ATMOS 41 weather station with our ZL6 data loggers, you have the flexibility to add any of our other sensors, like soil moisture.

Simple, compact, and connected

The ATMOS 41 weather station works seamlessly with the ZL6 for simple, plug-and-play atmospheric data logging and cloud-based data storage and management. You can set up an entire weather monitoring system without any complex wiring or programming. The ATMOS 41 weather station is a simple, compact, connected device with the flexibility to do more than weather measurements.

The weather station, reimagined

The ATMOS 41 weather station packages 12 weather sensors into a single, compact device for monitoring atmospheric conditions. It was designed for continuous deployment in harsh climates, such as sub-Saharan Africa and the extreme conditions around photovoltaic (PV) systems. There is only one moving part, eliminating virtually all failure points. No oiling or replacing bearings. Just reliability you can continue to count on.

More weather station sensors than other solutions

Most all-in-one weather stations give you the option to measure solar radiation or precipitation, but not both. The ATMOS 41 weather station provides both measurements in one device, so you never have to compromise.

Only one moving part

The one moving part on the Gen 2 is the tipping cup to provide better resolution at both high and low precipitation thresholds. Gold-plated pins measure each drop of rain using electric conductivity, ensuring a consistent 0.017 mm resolution for dew, rain, and heavy precipitation events. A sonic anemometer and internal accelerometer both ensure consistent, precise measurements without constant maintenance by insuring the stays level and motionless. Limiting the number of moving parts means the ATMOS 41 Gen 2 anemometer is also accurate at low wind speeds. It even has an accelerometer, so you’ll always know the sensor is level and you’re getting accurate data. And leveling the weather station is easier than ever with the new built-in leveling bracket.

ATMOS 41W
Wireless All-In-One Weather Station

At METER, we think getting your data shouldn’t be complicated or costly. And we think wireless should actually be wireless. That’s why we made the ATMOS 41W weather monitoring station.

  • A true wireless weather station ideal for long-term, remote installations
  • Incredible 10-minute installation time
  • Completely solar powered

The truth about wireless

Most all-in-one remote weather stations claim to be wireless but actually include a wire that connects to telemetry in a bulky enclosure. Add to that a big solar panel and a giant battery, and things start to get costly. We think getting your data shouldn’t be complicated—or costly. And we think wireless should actually be wireless. That’s why we created the ATMOS 41W.

Meet the world’s simplest wireless weather station

The ATMOS 41W all-in-one remote weather station is one of the world’s few truly wireless weather stations, and it’s the most affordable research-grade station in its class. It’s robust, reliable, and simple to use. All of the telemetry is enclosed with an integrated cell or Wi-Fi module. But that’s not even the best part. There is nothing on the market that is easier to install. Put it in a backpack, take it to your site, secure it to a post pointing North, and walk away. It’s that easy to start broadcasting real-time data directly to the cloud.

Data are transferred to the Cloud in two different ways, depending on your chosen configuration. Choose between hardware that allows upload via cell service or via Wi-Fi. Whether your site is within reach of cell service or relies on a local internet connection, ATMOS 41W operates where you work, sending data effortlessly directly to ZENTRA Cloud for easy access and analysis.

More accurate than ever

The ATMOS 41W remote weather station measures 10 environmental variables, including solar radiation, precipitation, air temperature (min, max, average), barometric pressure, vapor pressure, relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, maximum wind gust, and tilt. It takes our ultra-reliable ATMOS technology to the next level with a dual rain measurement for higher accuracy and extended range, making it one of the most robust rain gauges on the market. It combines a drop counter and a tipping spoon to ensure accurate measurements, and it’s the only rain gauge available that can measure electrical conductivity. Now you can tell if you’re measuring rainwater, irrigation water, or if the funnel is plugged with bird droppings. Not only that, we’ve improved the solar radiation, water vapor, air temperature, and wind measurement capabilities to be more compliant with various meteorological organization observation standards.

Not plug and play. Just play.

Forget complicated and costly. If you need a truly wireless, all-in-one, remote weather station that is incredibly simple to install, low maintenance, and can withstand harsh weather conditions, we’ve got you covered. ATMOS 41W makes scientific-grade accuracy easy and affordable, so you can discover more—and work less.

Ditch the setup

We engineered the ATMOS 41W to work right out of the box without having to worry about managing a cell provider or connection, and there’s no programming involved. If using Wi-Fi hardware, simply use the ZENTRA Utility Mobile App to connect to your Wi-Fi network. It’s a true wireless IoT instrument. Put it on a mount, and it’s literally sending data to the cloud. What if there’s a data transmission interruption? No problem. It has an integrated logger that stores your data, so you’ve got backup. Get continuous, 15-minute transmission of high-quality measurements in near-real time. Use ZENTRA Cloud to see, share, and manage your data from anywhere in the world, on any device.

Low power, low cost, low maintenance

The ATMOS 41W remote weather station was specifically designed for remote areas with harsh weather conditions, so it’s tough, durable, requires very little maintenance, and is completely solar powered, saving you countless trips to your site. An innovative tilt sensor signals out-of-level condition, and no configurations are necessary. It’s perfect for microenvironment monitoring, spatially-distributed environmental measurements, crop weather monitoring, fire danger applications, weather networks, and more.
