Content Meters

CCM-200
Chlorophyll Content Meter

Proven performance at a great price

The CCM-200 plus Chlorophyll Content Meter is an updated version of the very successful CCM-200 instrument. It is a reliable leaf absorption style meter with over 1,000 research citations. Designed as an affordable solution, the CCM-200 plus provides averaging between 2 to 30 samples for nitrogen management. Non-volatile flash memory stores up to 50,000 measurements.

The CCM-200 plus is designed to be the most repeatable portable chlorophyll content meter available. It incorporates a large measuring area for signal averaging. This approach provides a more reliable reading that takes into account small structure variations that can affect repeatability and reliability when compared to smaller area sampling. Accuracy of measurement is determined by correlation with chemical tests. Results have shown that the CCM-200 is as accurate as any chlorophyll meter on the market. Employing a medical grade strict tolerance LED source insures repeatability and consistent meter to meter readings.

The CCM-200 plus has large on-board memory, storing 50,000 measurements. Users can record months of measurements as well as input their own comment lines without worrying about limited memory or lugging additional equipment such as data loggers or PCs in the field. Data transfer is quick and easy through USB connection.

CCM-300
Chlorophyll Content Meter

Chlorophyll Content Meter – works on small & difficult samples & provides a larger reliable measuring range than other instruments

The CCM-300 uses a proven fluorescence ratio technique for chlorophyll content measurement at an affordable price. Readout is directly in chlorophyll content mg/m2, and measurement ratio.

CCM-300  Chlorophyll Content Meter is designed to measure difficult samples. It can be used on conifers, turf grasses, moss, lichen, immature wheat, immature Arabidosis, stems, and petioles, as well as easier samples, like corn and broadleaf plants. The instrument was designed around research done by Gittelson, Bushman, & Lichtenthaler in 1999. The research shows that this method offers a larger reliable measuring range than absorption style meters, provides a ratio that correlates with chemical tests & provides direct readout of chlorophyll content in mg/m2, that is reliable for many plant species. Adjustments to the direct chlorophyll content readout equation are possible for other species.

  • Reliable results on very small leaves, stems, petioles, and immature plants
  • Chlorophyll content can now be measured from germination through maturity on most plants
  • High degree of correlation with chemical tests, even at higher chlorophyll content levels.
  • Larger measuring range – reliable measurement from 41 mg/m2 to 675 mg/m2
  • Great for nitrogen management applications because it does a better job with well fertilized plants, used as a reference, in management applications.
  • Allows on-board averaging of up to 30 measurements for nitrogen management applications
  • Integrated GPS/GLONASS location receiver
  • USB port for easy data transfer

ACM-200
Anthocyanin Content Meter

Anthocyanin Content Meter.

The ACM-200 plus Anthocyanin Content Meter provides an estimate of anthocyanin content on intact leaves of plants and flowers. The measurement is rapid, nondestructive, and simple to obtain, allowing researchers to gather reliable data that has been shown to correlate to chemical testing.

Note: It should not be used with samples that have high chlorophyll content.

An affordable instrument that works with leaves and flowers. Works well with samples that do not have a high chlorophyll content (van den Berg A.K., Perkins T.D. 2005), (Morris J.B., Wang M.L. 2007). One handed operation. Averaging options.

MPM-100
Multi-Pigment-Meter

Multiple wavelength pigment meter

Field portable pigment meter using optical transmittance and fluorescence to characterize intact leaves. Five narrow band light sources are independently controlled for precise and repeatable readings. Three are used exclusively to excite fluorescence, the remaining two are for transmittance. Calculations can be modified for custom parameter measurements.

The MPM-100 is a field portable pigment measuring instrument. It can be used on any thin, flat material to measure both optical transmittance and fluorescence characteristics. The sample measuring area is 9.5mm in diameter. The top measuring head contains five light sources and a filtered detector. Three of the sources are dedicated to fluorescence excitation and two are for transmittance. The bottom measuring head contains a broadband detector for transmittance measurements. The detector filter is set for the target fluorophore.

User defined formulas calculate final values. This allows for custom tests to be developed and implemented. The instrument includes a high performance data logger, 3.2″ touch sensitive color LCD screen, USB connectivity, built in GPS receiver, and internal data storage.

When a test is started, three source LEDs are flashed and the resulting fluorescence is recorded from the top sample head. Flashes of light are very brief to minimize any effect on the sample. Transmittance measurements are then made by flashing the two remaining LEDs and recording the signal present on the bottom sample head.

Fluorescence LEDs and detector are factory calibrated for a normalized response. Relative changes between fluorescence channels are minimized because the fluorescence is excited and detected on the same side of the sample resulting in no movement between the sources and detector.

  • Direct measurement of fluorescence induced by three separate excitation sources
  • Direct measurement of transmittance at two wavelengths
  • Standard model measures chlorophyll content, anthocyanin content flavonol content and nitrogen flavonol index
  • 9.5mm diameter measurement area
