GAMMA RADIATION DETECTION

Rod feeder for logging devices

  • Provides smooth movement and fixation of the logging probe in vertical or inclined boreholes
  • Special rods for orientation of the inclinometer in the well
  • Support for quick and secure fixation in workings
  • Base for installation on a well
  • Lightweight and durable design
  • No electronic elements

The rod feeder (rod pusher) is designed for smooth feeding of a logging probe (for example, SRP-20KGStreamer, and others) into horizontal, inclined, and upward boreholes or its fixation in them. It can also be used for descending and orienting downhole inclinometers. The multipurpose rod feeding unit can be installed on a telescopic support or on an mounting base for fixing on the wellhead. The rod feeder provides a force of up to 200 kg allowing to perform logging in fairly deep upward boreholes.

The telescopic support can be up to 5 meters long and can be equipped with a tripod, which ensures its reliable fixation in fairly high mine workings. Two types of push rods are available – orientable for inclinometers or twistable for other devices. The rods are driven by a gear mechanism, which also ensures their reliable fixation in the borehole. The delivery set usually also includes a bracket for attaching the logging probe to the push rod.

It is convenient to use the rod feeder together with specialized logging reels.

Field scintillation radiometer SRP-20

  • Fast detection of gamma anomalies
  • High sensitivity of measurements
  • Portability and ease of use
  • Arrow and sound indication
  • Integration time adjustment

SRP-20 is the most advanced version of previously popular radiometers SRP-68 and SRP-97 and their analogue in terms of functional use and application domain. SRP-20, alike previous versions, is a scintillation radiometer and is designed to search for radioactive ores based on their gamma radiation, radiometric surveying of the terrain, radiometric testing of quarries and mine openings and detection of radioactively contaminated zones. The walking and logging (analogues SRP-97K and SRP-68-02/03) versions are commercially available, which differ in the design of the detection unit case with identical metrological characteristics. Due to the presence of Bluetooth and USB interfaces, data can be transferred to a PC in real time. It is also possible to increase the time integration window in order to obtain stable data on anomalies that are close to background values.

Areas of SRP-20 application:

  • Radioactive ores search by gamma radiation
  • Radiometric surveying of the terrain
  • Radiometric testing of quarries and mine openings
  • Detection of radioactive contamination zones
  • Gamma-ray logging

Distinctive features of SRP-20:

  • Designed to work in the field
  • Capability to adjust the time integration window
  • Built-in Bluetooth and USB
  • Capability to visualize data on a PC
  • Sealed detection unit for walking mode can be used in shallow boreholes or for underwater objects surveying
  • Unified console for operation with logging and walking mode detection unit

Borehole scintillation radiometer SRP-20

  • Fast assessment of rocks’ natural radioactivity
  • High sensitivity of measurements
  • Portable and easy to use
  • Adjustable averaging window

Borehole scintillation radiometer SRP-20 − the most advanced version of well-known logging radiometers SRP-97K and SRP-68-02/03 and their analogue in terms of functionality and application. The device is designed to conduct gamma-ray logging in wells up to 300 m depth and drillings. The borehole and hand-held (analogue of SRP-68-01, SRP-88 and SRP-97) versions are in series production.

When conducting gamma-ray logging, a continuous curve or chart is recorded, which displays the intensity of gamma radiation in nSv/h. Due to natural absorption by host rock, ionizing radiation from rocks and objects within a radius of up to 30 cm from the scintillation detector is recorded.

Why SRP-20?

  • Borehole radiometer SRP-20 includes both probe and control unit, so that it becomes all-sufficient system for gamma-ray logging
  • Waterproof detection unit of borehole version can be used both in dry / filled with liquid boreholes and with any types of casing (or without it)
  • Waterproof control unit
  • User friendly interface and simple operation
  • Built-in Bluetooth and USB enable real time data visualization on a PC
  • The instrument can be supplied with a well logging rod feeder system and a set of rods in order to use the probe in horizontal, inclined, and ascending wells and drillings
  • Adjustment of time averaging window enables to record stable data on low level anomalies and provides immediate response during quick scanning
  • Upon request, the detection unit can be manufactured for placing in a more than 300 m deep boreholes
  • Easy-to-use pointer indicator equipped with a stepper motor eliminates oscillations caused by measuring console movement
  • Indicator backlight provides comfort measurements at any conditions

Areas of SRP-20 application:

  • Radioactive / nonradioactive ore exploration
  • Lithology studies in boreholes
  • Identification and refinement of reservoir intervals (oil and gas-saturated formations)
  • Tying to depth during perforating operations
  • Determination of clay content and fracturing of rocks

Package contents:

  • Logging probe
  • Measuring console with built-in battery
  • Charger
  • Headphones
  • Rugged Case
  • Reel with slip ring
  • Well logging rod feeder system with rods (optionally)
